Posting an Image

You can't usually post photos directly to forums because of size, etc. so you need to either copy a link to a photo from elsewhere or use an image hosting company and link to your picture there.

The proper way to post images! It's also the one you will need to use to post your own photos, etc.

You will need to create an account with an image hosting company. There are several image hosting companies; main ones include:

http://photobucket.com
http://www.imageshack.us

But there are others out there- which one you chose is up to you! Both imageshack and photobucket have free basic accounts (perfectly fine!) or you can pay for a premium account (most people don't need that!).

1. Go to your hosting company and log into your album on there.

2. Click on browse and find the photo you want to host, then double click to upload it/chose upload depending on the site you are using.

3. Once uploaded, links will appear depending on your host. You also need to tell this forum that you are posting a photo by using img code tags. Different image hosts use different formats e.g.

a, Photobucket has several links and one specifies for forum use (it already has img tags included). Copy that link and then post it on here and once submitted your image should show up.

b, If you only have one link, you will need to use image tags to make your post display. Above the typing box on a reply are several buttons and one says Img click on that and the img tags will appear with a cursor flashing in the middle. Simply post your link inbetween the two.

4. Hit submit when you are ready and the picture should appear. :D Note: It won't show up in the reply box prior to posting.

Copying an exisiting image from the internet (cheating! lol)
You can also use an existing url for an image and link to that although you that isn't seen as best practice as it uses up other people's bandwidth and the photo might disappear or you get a warning!
1.Right click on the image
2. Click on properties in the pop up box
3. Copy the url address
4. Hit reply here and click on Img button to get img tags and insert photo url between the two and then hit select when ready.

I'm not sure about this - but I've seen this forum is powered by phpBB, so here's a tutorial about adding emoticons:

I hope this helps!
